The Westminster Confession of Faith is a Reformed confession of faith, in the Calvinist theological tradition. Although drawn up by the 1646 Westminster Assembly, largely of the Church of England, it became and remains the 'subordinate standard' of doctrine in the Church of Scotland, and has been influential within Presbyterian churches worldwide.

This book is the complete collection of the Westminster Standards, not merely the Confession of Faith. Included in here are the Larger and Shorter Catechisms, the Directory of Public Worship, and the Sum of Saving Knowledge, to name but a few documents. The Confession and the Catechisms come with their proof texts at the bottom of the page, almost always written out in full, using the KJV.A very important point that must be made is that the Confession is as first written. One must remember that there have been revisions to the Confession made in America as early as 1788 (see the Chapters on Christian Liberty and Liberty of Conscience, the Civil Magistrate, and Synods and Councils). The revision of the Chapter on Synods and Councils is especially noteworthy, because removed the statement that the civil magistrates may call a synod and council (appropriate in the USA, but it strips out the basis of the Westminster Assembly being called in the first place!). A later change made in 1903 was the removal of the declaration in Chapter 25.6, On the Church, that the Pope is the Antichrist, the man of sin and the son of perdition. For those who are studying for ordination as minister, elders, and deacons in the PCA and OPC, these changes need to be kept in mind.
I have found this work extremely useful in my personal devotions and study. As an example, if I ever start to think I am not a sinner, a tour through the Larger catechism section on the Ten Commandments, with all the proof texts written down at the bottom of the page, will quickly shoot down that nonsense.
An excellent reference on the Westminster Standards, well worth getting and studying.

The Westminster Confession Of Faith Westminster Assembly 9783849677329 Books Reviews
A must-have for everyone who claims the new birth from the Holy Spirit and the Protestant faith. The Westminster Confession remains one of the finest summaries and expressions of the most basic tenets from Scripture.
These truths unfortunately have been ignored or abandoned by the majority of those who practice what passes for Christianity today.
I bought my copy used. It arrived promptly and the condition matched the description from the vendor. I've yet to read the book in entirety, but the portions I have are very rewarding. Of course I would hope so considering this is one of the great confessions of Christianity. I look forward to reading more and in no way regret this purchase.
This book is an excellent reference book. I feel i did well adding this to my library. If you are a Christian who wants to further understand what true Christianity is you should at least read this book if not add it to your library.
The Westminister Confession of Faith is one of the rocks that support Calvinist based denominations. For it's time period the English is very easy to understand. I like to read a selection every day along with my other devotionals. All of it is tied to scripture thus affirming its validity.
This is the 1789 American Revision of the Confession of Faith. Not really what I wanted.
For some reason, chapter 31 is doubled, both in the table of contents and in the text itself. I guess I'm a little conflicted as to how best rate this publication. It is a clear readable text, it does not have the proof texts, which would not have bothered the Westminster Divines who included those proof texts at the instruction of Parliment. Overall, I'm very pleased and would be willing to buy multiple copies as a giveaway resource for our church, but the fact that one chapter is missing... I dunno.
This copy of "The Westminster Confession of Faith" is good but holds a crucial error. It contains two identical chapters titled "Of Synods and Councils" (Chapter XXXI and XXXII p. 73&75). I believe the next chapter is supposed to be "Of the State of Men after Death, and of the Resurrection of the Dead." This needs fixed. Not sure exactly who the publisher is, maybe Loki Publishing? At the end of this book it states that it was made on 10 October 2015. It doesn't have much information which seems fishy. There are better versions out there.
